Whether you come to Shetland for the scenery, the wildlife, the boating, the archaeology, the geology, the music, or on business, you will appreciate the convenience and comfort offered by The Admiralty Apartment. Luxuriously appointed and with panoramic views over the harbour, the town and Fort Charlotte, The Admiralty is convenient for shops and eating out (or in) and has easy car parking.
There is plenty to do in Lerwick - the bustling harbour and our award-winning museum are not to be missed. Eating out ranges from the finest fish restaurants through Thai, Chinese, Indian and Turkish cuisine. One of the best Chinese restautants is in the same building as The Admiralty. Although you are in the centre of town, Lerwick is more like most people's experience of a peaceful village.
Outside Lerwick, the spectacular scenery and wild-life was kept quiet until Simon King′s ′Shetland Diaries′ series on BBC television let the secret out. Up close and personal with puffins, plenty of otters if you′re patient enough, killer whales, sea-bird colonies - there′s the archaeology -neolithic, bronze age, Viking. The geology is so special that Shetland now has world geopark status. Shetland′s unique history will blow your mind - then there′s the people - the warmest welcome you will find anywhere. Welcome to Shetland!
